Rainy River High School's Owl Theatre performed Oliver Twist last Friday and Saturday evenings. Fr. l. to r., Eric Detweiler as a Fagin Boy, Tori Armstrong as Bet, Kathryn Clifford as a Fagin Boy, Sarah Gall as Nancy and Cody Armstrong as Oliver.

Riverview's grade 7/8 girls basketball team went undefeated over the weekend at the regional championships. They beat J. W. Walker, Sturgeon Creek and St. Francis to win! Back row, l. to r., Moriah Caradice, Bethany Sinninge, Dakota Kreger and Madison Brown. Fr. row, Chalina Abraham, Kendra Moen, Hayley Arpin and Abbey Tolen. Missing from photo are coaches Bev and Skylar Arpin.

On Saturday at about 6:30 p.m. The Rainy River Volunteer Fire Dept. as well as the Pinewood Volunteer Fire Dept. was called out to a grass fire on the corner of Hwy. 11 and Worthington Road 7. A very large field was on fire. Both Fire department’s fought the fire for several hours. The fire was out by 9:00 p.m. Firefighter Amy Ashworth is seen here.

Lake of the Woods Rec Committee presented a cheque for the amount of $500.00 to the McCrosson Tovell Elementary School for sports activities for the students. Both local and out of town buyers are seen here checking out several head of cattle that were for sale at the Stratton Sales Barn this past Saturday. More than 1,000 head were sold that day.

Skylar Arpin, left, and Courtney Hansen, of Rainy River High School have gone undefeated so far this season and last week that brought them each a NorWOSSSA Gold Medal in Senior Girls Doubles!

Rainy River Legion Ladies Auxilary members played host to the Annual District Meeting of the organization two weekends ago. As part of the fun they had a Disney Theme for the banquet and many Disney characters came to life and put smiles on everyone's face at the meeting!
