We like the new look of your website

Letter to the editor,

We like the new look on the web site and have always enjoyed reading the latest Rainy River District news.
Many of our friends have passed away since 1979 when we moved to B.C.

Sorry for the inconvenience

A open letter to
The Manager
The Beer Store,
Fort Frances
Dear Sir,
This is to inform you that Border Service, 114 Atwood Ave., Rainy River will not be accepting beer bottle returns as of the end of January, 2007.
The collection has not been profitable but was done more as a community service than as a money-maker.
The addition of liquor & wine bottle returns makes collection less viable. We do not have the space nor the manpower to do what is expected.
We thank you for your past cooperation.
Sincerely,
Dale Morrison

A Speaker: “Okay boys, here it is....Dalton and his chosen few have come up with a dandy idea. In a nutshell it’s ‘Let’s take a twenty-five percent across the board salary increase!’

Give your family a smoke-free Christmas

Dear Editor:
Forty -four people die in Ontario from smoking each day.
This Christmas we want to encourage smokers to think of their loved ones and consider the fact that they are not only harming themselves but also others around them.

I really appreciate the experience of working with the RR Choir

Dear editor,
I would like to express my appreciation to the Rainy River Community Choir members for for letting me share the gift of music with them and the community.
Their talent, enthusiasm and friendship is more than I ever expected.

We are in an impossible

As you are aware, the producers of the Rainy River District are in an impossible position with regard to our ability to eat meat produced on our farms; we do not have an abattoir, so our meat cannot be inspected, and we are unable to legally continue to eat this good wholesome food in the manner we have been doing since our great-grandparents’ time.

It was pure manipulative strategy

Dear Editor:
Winning the Liberal leadership by Stephan Dion might have fooled many television viewers as well as the delegates at the Convention but after the results of the second ballot was finalized before continuing to the third ballot it was obvious that Dion was going to be the new Liberal leader.

Dear Editor,
I just wanted to stress the fact that we’re the only Can/AM girls high school hockey co-op in the state, and possibly the nation...

Big bouquet to the farmers

Letter to the Editor
A big bouquet to all those farmers who stood up for their rights when the government tried to confiscate and destroy their property without so much as a single test to prove there was any contamination of their meat.

Get the facts straight about the meat

Letter to the Editor,
I want to help people understand what’s happening in our district. To do that I need you to do this little exercise for me.
