Letter to the Editor,
If the town of Rainy River were to get a public skatepark I think this town would become a better place. Rainy River would attract more tourists.
Maybe the population will increase and make the town more lively. I have had conversations with tourists who are actually interested in what we do on these skateboards. Even elders will sometimes stop by and watch us skateboard.

Dear Editor;
What a weekend! What a hoot!
Fifty pilots from a radius of 500 miles, with over 100 radio-controlled aircraft! A park full of people, young and old, enjoying fellowship and music. Cotton candy, ice cream and hot dogs. Great creativity and foolishness with some cardboard, duct tape and a beautiful river.

I am a member of Operation Legacy: a program for members of The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program who have accepted the challenge of carrying a general message to the public about the need for Canadian youth to understand more about our military heritage.

Letter to the Editor:
We could not believe the Rainy River Fire Department burning the grass on the west side of our house July 1st. Everything was tinder dry and about 20 mph wind. There were hot embers flying everywhere on our deck, on our house and on our boat. The smoke was just terrible in the house and outside too.

Dear Editor,
I’m writing in regard to a problem that is occurring all over the Rainy River District. We have a huge deer problem.
In the last three nights I have had my petunia bed completely destroyed by deer who pulled up the plants, bit them off and stomped all over what was left.

Dear Editor,
I just read your “Ken’s Korner” about the cats. Here in Vita, MB we have the exact same problem – lots of strays that enjoy fighting with my poor, aged cat (who’s going on 19 years now).

An open letter to the editor,
Dear Mr. McGreevy,
Stefan and I are writing to thank you for the many years of excellent education you have provided the students of Rainy River area. When we began at Queen’s University we both quickly realized that the quality of education we received at Rainy River High School was as good as, if not superior, to many other large urban schools.

Dear Editor
Thank you for the article in the paper about the soccer program it was very
positive and highlighted what a great community Rainy River is for raising
children. I would just like to clear up a few inaccuracies.

In response back in the May 30th issue as well, I’d like to respond to “Lucille Kaliska’s” letter to you because I don’t blame her “one iota” for “NOT WANTING” the town to place “planters is it”? In front of her house “next year” because of certain vandals pulling them out “each and every year like clockwork” apparently.

First of all - a Big Thumbs Down to a certain few who enjoy destroying other people’s attempts to make things look nice for the enjoyment of others.
