“I would like to urge the town to do something about arrears for taxes of three years or more,” said Councillor Ed Tymkin at last week’s council meeting.
Council passed its annual interim tax levy at that meeting last Tuesday evening.

Rainy River could get a lot bigger if talk turns into action.
Rainy River Mayor Glen Armstrong told town council last week that he had been approached by Dawson Reeve John Amundsen and Lake of the Woods Reeve Val Pizey about looking at amalgamating the three townships.

It is three in a row for Bonot!
Bryan Bonot’s Stratton rink won the 49th Annual Rainy River Men’s Bonspiel for the third time in a row against the same opponent; Tim Nordin of Rainy River.
Bonot’s rink was skipped by his son Trevor, Third was John Desaulnier, Second was Bryan Bonot and Lead was Norm Hyatt.

On February 18th at 3:00 a.m. the Emo OPP were called to investigate a threat allegation north of Emo on Cann Road. A male subject entered the Cann Road residence carrying a crowbar and making a motion to strike the victim.
