Students from Mr. Mike McInerney's music class at Riverview Elementary School visited Heritage House on Thursday to perform a number of songs including old time favourites like "The Cat Came Back," and "The Good Old Hockey Game," for local senior citizens. Rebecca Tolen, center standing, of Rainy River, was one of the Border Ballers that competed in fun with the Harlem Ambassadors basketball team last Tuesday at the Lake of the Woods school in Baudette. The event was a fundraiser for school athletics and very entertaining. The Ambassadors put on a show similar to the Harlem Globe Trotters.

Students from Riverview Elementary School visited Heritage House last Thursday and performed several songs for senior citizens that both live there and were visiting. About a dozen enjoyed the half hour of entertainment. The students have been learning the music under teacher Mike McInerney.

The First St. Waterworks replacement project is nearly completed. The Town Crew and some extra labourers hired for the project were nearly to the highway Monday.

The Sunday school class of 1948 sang Happy Birthday to Guthrie U.C. last Sunday to mark the 100th birthday of the church in Devlin. Shown here are Lois Caul, Faye Davis, Freeda Carmody, Audrey Forrester, Mildred Lalonde & Irene Grenner. Mildred Lalonde was the first baby baptised at Guthrie U.C. 100 years ago.

Dave Armstrong, left, and his brother Darren, pose with two of the fish they caught on day 2 to win the 2013 RRWT Crown! The one Darren is holding tipped the scales at 7.16 lbs. Their two day total was 24.22 lbs. Jon O'Connor, left, and Kirk Wood, hoisted up the four fish they caught on day 2 of the tourney. They were the leaders on day 1 and almost had enough to win it all, falling 6/100ths of a pound off the mark. The received $7,500 for second place.
