Just shy of 30 years, Rainy River High School Principal Bob McGreevy, is retiring at the end of this school year.
McGreevy began his career with the local public school board in Lac La Croix in September of 1977. At the time he was in need of a teaching job, something that was hard to come by in his home town of the day, Kingston, Ont.

Pink eye is estimated to affect 20% of calves and 10% of feeder cattle. It is an irritating and painful disease of the conjunctiva (soft tissues around the eye) and cornea (clear part of the eye). Economically it can have serious impact on weight gains, treatment costs, labor, and it can decrease the value of an animal by permanently disfiguring or blinding the eye.

The grand finale of the Biggest Losers program was held on Sunday, June 18th.
Thirty two members weighed in and waited in anticipation for the math to be done and the Biggest Loser announced! It was no surprise that April Trenchard was the Biggest Loser, losing a total of 47 lbs. in the 12 week program and taking home the top prize of $300 as well as the coveted ‘massage’ complimentary of Cheryl Gauthier of the Harris Hill Resort.

Brother, do you have the time? That question would probably prompt us to look at our watch. But I’d like to consider time in a different light. Never in all of history has time seemed to be so important. If we consider time in Abraham’s days or in Jesus’s days we get a different perspective.

Here is a bird which you have probably never seen, but might very well have heard. The Whip-poor-will is known much more by its call, than by how it looks.
This bird is about the same size as a robin. But it has a totally different shape. It appears bigger than it really is because its feathers are usually quite fluffed up.

Summer Company – one of several programs offered through the Ontario Government Young Entrepreneur Strategy – is delivered through the Northwest Business Centre and provides youth an opportunity to develop, plan, and implement a business venture.

The grade 4/5 class at Riverview Elementary School in Rainy River has spent most of the school year learning from a baby.
Newborn Ronan Ivall, son of Earl and Stephanie Ivall, began visiting their classroom last November as part of the Roots of Empathy (ROE) program. The idea behind the program is to teach school kids to better understand the feelings of others.
