Peacefully on February 25, 2008, Eva M. Lowes of Rainy River, Ont passed away at the age of 90. Eva was born in Baudette Mn, on April 29, 1917, the daughter of Edward and Florence Kearney.

In loving memory of our dear mother Dorothea Myrna Engebretsen who passed away peacefully in the early hours of February 19, 2008 at her retirement home in Penticton, BC. Like her father, she acquired pneumonia after breaking her hip.

Margaret Mary Thompson, age 82, of Fort Frances, ON passed away on Wednesday February 21, 2008 at Rainycrest Home For The Aged.

Word has been received that Jack Calvert passed away Friday, February 1st in International Falls. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 6th at 2:00 at the St. James Anglican Church in Rainy River.

Peacefully on Friday January 25, 2008 at the Rainy Crest Home for the Aged, Fort Frances, Ontario, Lorraine L. Almers (Sis) formerly of Morson, Ontario passed away at the age of 84.

On Tuesday, January 29, 2008 Ed Sandvik passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. Ed was born in Rainy River, ON on August 31, 1922 to Ole and Alvilde Sandvik. After serving with The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada in WWII and seeing action in Holland he returned to Rainy River. Ed worked out of his home town for the CNR as a locomotive engineer for 37 years. Ed was a Mason and a member of Ionic Lodge #461 of the Province of Ontario.

Marjorie Douglas (nee Anna Naucler) born September 20, 1924 in Rainy River passed away at the age of 83 on Saturday January 26th at the Ste Joseph Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, Angelita and Hjalmer Naucler, husband Arthur and daughter-in-law Ethel Douglas. Marjorie was also predeceased by her brothers, Martin, Norman, Kendall and her older sister Evelyn Fausher.

Margaret Archie passed away on Monday, January 14, 2008 at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 51.

Richard J. Hughes (Ted) age 88 years passed away at the Riverside Health Centre, Rainy River, Ont on Saturday January 19, 2008.
