Where oh where did that present go?
That was the question I found myself asking over and over since returning home from Bemidji on Saturday.

Black Friday.... That is what U.S. retailers call the day after their Thanksgiving as it is the day that kick-starts their holiday shopping season and a day that they hope will help put them in the black for the year.
This year I happened to be in the US when Black Friday came. I asked my fiancee if she wanted to get up at 5 a.m. and go to the stores and seek big savings. She said resoundingly "No!"
I was glad.

Well the Christmas rush is just around the corner.
As you can see from our pages there are events coming, people gearing up to help other people and businesses planning sales for you to see.

Sunday evening I attended the first Rainy River KidSport Variety Show at the Rainy River Community Centre.
I was shocked that there were so few people there watching.

There is something about the first snow of the season.
The first snow prompted me and my buddy to do the work on our ice fishing shack that we swore we were going to do all summer.

Oh to be a kid again!
Friday I spent the evening trick or treating with my future step-children and their mom.

Trick or treat... that is the question!!
Kids will be venturing out onto the streets this Friday in search of tricks or treats... well that is what they say.

There has to be enough curlers in and around Rainy River to make up the difference between closing the club and keeping it open.

Well it is no wonder Canadians are apathetic about voting.

Well it is almost over!
Yes another election campaign is nearing an end and all of the parties claim they have the magic answers about the economy or other subjects like the environment.
